SAVE was the name given to save files and the ability to overwrite them. There was one SAVE slot in the universe, which can be overwritten by interacting with SAVE Points or by autosaving. In the dialogue, "SAVE" was noticeably written in caps, and it could be conjugated.

Reset[]
The Reset function was found in the universe's Load Screen. This function erased most information stored in a SAVE, such as Frisk's LV and EXP; resetting, however, did not erase certain variables such as the name. Similarly to loading a SAVE, some inhabitants in the universe acted differently after a reset. When Sans reseted right after he killed Chara during the Battle at the Last Corridor, this caused major glitches and errors across space time. After achieving the ending he wanted, Frisk destroyed the reset button, though he later regretted this, since it resulted in alterations of the universe's history.
